ILCA Vikings tough it out in Gimli

Jun 24, 2024

Last weekend the Viking Cup & Breadbasket Championship at the Gimli YC and was scheduled as that last qualifier for the Manitoba Games to be held in Dauphin August 11-17.

Planned as a weekend of races, 35 sailors from the C420, 29er and ILCA classes plus a group of Optis took part in the coaching sessions, but on Saturday 30 knot winds arrived and only the ILCA sailors braved the blow. A tough bunch! The 420s, 29ers and Optis opted for the prudent decision.

The final line up for the Manitoba Games was complete following the event.
