Events: Successful Quebec Adaptive Sailing Fundraiser Regatta

On Saturday, August 16, the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club in Dorval hosted the 13th edition of the Regatta for AQVA, a fundraising event benefiting the Québec Adapted Sailing Association (AQVA that drew 54 participating boats from six clubs including 10 AQVA sailboats.
The day concluded with a festive dinner gathering 134 guests for cocktails, a meal, an awards ceremony, dancing, and a silent auction. Thanks to the commitment of participants, volunteers, donors, and sponsors, more than $105,000 was raised far surpassing the original goal of $90,000.
These funds will enable AQVA to continue its mission: offering individuals living with physical disabilities the opportunity to experience adapted sailing on Lake Saint-Louis. Each summer, more than 200 sailors take part in nearly 700 safe outings, guided by a team of 10 dedicated instructors. For many, sailing represents much more than a sport: it is an experience of freedom, belonging, and personal achievement.
AQVA thanks the organizing committee, volunteers, participating clubs, as well as its partners, including Lou-tec and the Tenaquip Foundation, whose generous support made this event a success.
