The inaugural LSYC started with a simple concept – why not bring back the fun and good time racing of events of the past. A team of organizers put together a full slate of sponsors, a food truck and raft-up plan designed to bring a lot of people together for a summer party.

Racing was simple – a distance race to a new summer-permanent mark set in Clarkson for a distance course with the help of Fogh Marine.

It all worked out well, the weather was perfect and all had a great time.

The organizers report that the post event feedback has been awesome! “Thank you!! Glad everyone had a great time.”

Raft Party Signan old school touch

The race was a good one with 46 boats registered in a series of PHRF starts. Complete results here. A number of participants claim to have won the party.

The Raft Party team asks participants to let them know if you would come back? If the people want it, they will bring it back in 2020!

Canada’s Superior: the North Shore

Story and photos by Jennifer M. Smith
