The Canadian Safe Boating Council Reminds You To Nominate Your Local Boating Heroes Today

AAh, summer. This is the time that we, as Canadian boaters, enjoy the most. Early morning forays onto the water in search of that elusive catch; afternoons spent carving a perfect wake and quiet evenings spent cruising pristine shorelines. It’s also the perfect time to think about recognizing the efforts of those who do so much to make our favourite on-water activities both safer and environmentally sustainable…and it’s through the Canadian Safe Boating Awards that you can do just that.

In no more than 15 minutes you can nominate that special person, group or organization whose efforts in the field of boating safety or environmental stewardship deserve national recognition. Perhaps they are volunteers or professionals whose efforts have contributed greatly to the safety of those on the water. Then again, maybe it’s someone who, hearing that another was in trouble on the water, summoned the courage to mount a rescue. These are the people we want you to nominate to receive a Canadian Safe Boating (CASBA) Award. You can even nominate yourself or your group or organization.

The Canadian Safe Boating Awards (CASBAs) are like the People’s Choice Awards of Safe Boating. They are an annual awards ceremony and dinner which takes place every January to recognize the efforts of the general public, volunteers, professionals, agencies and organizations who have distinguished themselves in the fields of boating safety and environmental stewardship.

The CASBA awards span a number of categories including:
“Rescue of the Year”
“Marine Professional of the Year”
“Top Volunteer Dedicated to Safe Boating”
“Ontario Power Generation – Best Boating Safety Initiative”
“Safeguarding the Environment”
“Marine Industry”
“Visible PFD Wear in Advertising”
“Best Media Contribution to Boating Safety”

What makes the CASBAs so very special is that nominations come from people like YOU! No matter where you live from Victoria to St. John’s, please keep your eyes and ears open. Without your nomination, the great works of those who contribute so much to our safety and enjoyment of recreational boating may go unrecognized. Now is your time to act. Help the Canadian Safe Boating Council say thank-you to deserving Canadians for their stellar efforts and let them know that their work is greatly appreciated. Visit http://www.csbc.ca/ under “Events” for more information about the CASBAs, to submit your nomination or to register to attend on January 12th, 2014 in Toronto. For further information, please contact Ian Gilson 905-719-5152 or via email at igilson@shaw.ca.

NOMINATIONS CLOSE NOVEMBER 4TH, 2013.

The Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console is a do-it-all kind of boat with a solid sense of style. Centre console designs have been developed for the southern blue water sport fishing enthusiasts (and this boat would raise fish with the best of them) but the Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console offers far more utility and enjoyment than just fishing.
