Newport, R.I. – Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show, announced today the results of this year’s Edson Awards for Excellence in Portraying Company Image. Presented by Will Keene, chairman of Edson International, and given to companies whose display and employees exemplify pride and professionalism, the awards were presented to four category winners who each received a $1,000 credit toward their 2017 show contract costs from the show producers. Edson also awarded a Star of the Show plaque to an overall winner. The 2016 awardees are:

Best In-Water Powerboat Display: MarineMax, Clearwater, Florida
Best In-Water Sailboat Display: Beneteau USA, Annapolis, Maryland
Best Free-Standing Display: Sunbrella, Burlington, North Carolina
Best in Tent Display: 727 Sailbags, Doylestown, Pennsylvania
Best Overall Display and Edson Star of the Show: Beneteau USA, Annapolis, Maryland

“Overall, the exhibitors at the 46th annual Newport International Boat Show delivered a high level of professionalism – it was very difficult to choose the best display,” said Will Keane. “Exhibits were judged by an independent group and assessed on cohesive branding throughout; eye-catching and inviting set-up; well-dressed, friendly, knowledgeable staff; brochures and business cards readily available; and a neat and clean environment.”

The Newport International Boat Show opened on Thursday, September 15th and continued through Sunday, September 18th, 2016 along the Newport Waterfront on America’s Cup Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. One of the largest in-water boat shows in the country, this year’s event had over 600 exhibitors from around the world with an exceptional assortment of boats of every type and style from 15 to 90 feet, and a wide variety of accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boaters.
