Navigare Yachting named distributor for Island Spirit Catamarans

Island Spirit Catamarans

Aug 10, 2022

Navigare Yachting is pleased to announce its partnership with Group Island Spirit (GIS) to represent Island Spirit Catamarans through exclusive distributorship in Europe and the United States. The collaboration expands on the long relationship previously established between the third largest yacht charter operator, Navigare Yachting, and GIS, the Thailand-based manufacturer with charter locations in Phuket, Koh Chang and Koh Samui, Thailand.

Navigare Yachting is looking forward to supporting the launch of GIS’ latest innovation in catamarans fitted with electric propulsion starting with the all-new Island Spirit 525E. The EV catamaran is set to debut at the Annapolis sailboat show in the Fall of 2023.

“We could not be prouder nor more excited by this unique opportunity to help propel the Island Spirit Catamarans brand to the top”, says Jesper Rönngard, Founder and CEO of Navigare Yachting. “Whether yacht buyers are looking for private ownership or a revenue-producing placement in one of our charter fleets, we stand ready to help them decide if this is the right catamaran for them. With the general enthusiasm of boaters for electric propulsion, there is no doubt the new IS 525E will position itself very well in the market. Besides the obvious appeal for a more environment-friendly yacht, the early trials reveal an impressive performance.”

“Selecting the right distributor for Island Spirit Catamarans required the expert knowledge of a leader in the yachting industry together with the reach of a global brand”, comments Ronald Patston, CEO of Group Island Spirit. “I cannot think of a better fit than Navigare Yachting to meet this challenge and launch the 525E,” Patston added. “We’ve kept the news of the new Island Spirit 525E very quiet until now and have pre-sold the first three hulls. At this pace, we expect the first year of production to sell out rapidly and we urge those interested in learning more and reserving a production slot to contact Navigare Yachting now.” For more information and product details about the Island Spirit 525E, visit https://groupislandspirit.com/island-spirit-525/

New Boats: Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 – A Sleek, Good -Looking Delight To Sail

By Katherine Stone

There is nothing more that I enjoy than being with friends and messing about in boats. Messing about in brand-new boats on a champagne sailing day on Lake Ontario at the beginning of the summer doesn’t get any better. To have the new owner, Helmuth Strobel and Anchor Yachts dealer Pancho Jimenez aboard made it even more special, as they can also speak to what they truly enjoy about the boat. We keep our own boat in a harbour that has a long waiting list for boats over 35 feet, so this little gem would definitely fit the bill and feels like a much bigger boat. True to the spirit of the 7th generation Oceanis line, the 34.1 is built in Poland and replaces the 35.1. It is 1,000 lbs lighter, 14 cm narrower and has 29% more sail area.
