Yanmar Holdings has entered into a collaboration with design house “fragment design”, headed by renowned designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, to develop a special version of Yanmar’s flagship X47 express cruiser.

fragment’s vision of the X47 remakes the vessel with distinctive design elements such as fitting the high-tech cruiser with vintage Persian carpets, to reimagine what a cruiser could be. The audacious addition of a bench seat that stretches from the aft deck to the cabin invites you into a relaxing space reminiscent of a home party, for a new style of marine living.

The X47 high-performance motor yacht, designed by world famous industrial designer Ken Okuyama, a director of Yanmar Holdings, offers an outstanding level of quality accommodation with two well-appointed en-suites cabins, a lounge and kitchen with Living spaces bathed in natural light. The unique vessel combines the thrill of a powerboat with the elegance of a cruiser and was made reality by the advanced FRP modeling technology of luxury Italian yacht builder Azimut Yachts.

Considerations such as how to maximize use of space, manage weight distribution and ensure the safety of the occupants were paramount in the design of the 40-knot cruiser. fragment’s designers and Yanmar’s engineers worked out the details of materials and parts over many hours of discussion to create a beguiling space in a cruiser that is unique in the world.
