Bigger is better this year at the London Boat Fishing and Outdoor Show

London Boat and Fishing Show

The Western Fair District will be filled to the brim with The London Boat Fishing and Outdoor Show offering even more boats, RVs and outdoor experiences than ever before.  Under new management, Continuum Productions, producers of the Central Ontario Boat Show & Sale have created a show experience featuring many of the Provinces top boat brands recreational power products, marine & fishing accessories.

Anglers have the opportunity to learn from Leo Stakos and Ron James stars of the hit TV series FISH TV, whom will share their insight and expertise.  A very exciting feature of the show this year is the FISH TV Family Zone where families can try their hand at fishing for free in our very own indoor pond.  For the seasoned fisherfolk FISH TV has provided fishing simulators to test their skills with interactive games.  Attendees can take a stroll through The Great Canadian Fishing Store to purchase new fishing tackle and accessories or to learn more about the outdoors through such associations as OFAH, the Ontario Federation of Angler and Hunters.

Brand new to this year’s show is Canada’s Power & Outdoor Zone because boaters aren’t just boaters. Whether showgoers have just started looking for a new vehicle, toy or place to lodge this summer, this is the place to find specials and get questions answered. One lucky show attendee will win a Honda TRX 420FM ATV courtesy of the show.

Members of the RCMP will be present at the show to explain the new joint initiative with US law enforcement.  The Canada-US Shiprider program was launched in June 2013, allowing vessels jointly crewed by specially trained and designated Canadian and U.S. law enforcement officers to transit together across the border. The goal of the program is to help secure the waters from issues of national security and prevent cross-border smuggling and trafficking.

The Confederation Marine Modellers should surely not be missed as they display model replicas boats both historical and current. All will be able to learn from the masters how these model replicas are hand crafted. Families alike will get their chance to earn their own Captains License, by trying their hand at driving a pint sized remote controlled replica of some of the very same boats on the show room floor.

The London Boat Fishing and Outdoor Show is taking place at Western Fair District. All who attend will receive free visitor parking.   For more information on the London Boat Fishing and Outdoor Show and to purchase discount tickets please visit www.londonboatshow.ca. Tickets will be $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and youth and children under 13 are free.

If you’ve already had firsthand experience with a pontoon, you will easily understand the appeal of the Bennington 22 MSB. But if you haven’t, let’s start by reviewing a few of the reasons why pontoon boats have become top sellers in markets across North America.

Pontoon boats began in the early 1950s as basically four steel drums lashed to a frame. They were not unlike the log rafts of ancient cultures and not much more sophisticated at first.

The Best of Two Worlds

By Mathew Channer

Interior British Columbia might not be as famous for recreational boating as Canada’s Great Lakes, yet it is no less a world-class boating destination. The mountains offer their own flavour of marine adventure with their series of long, deep ribbon lakes, and there is perhaps no area that embodies this more uniquely than the iconic Okanagan basin in southern B.C. One could be forgiven for assuming this valley was purpose-built for nautical fun, with a few delightful perks thrown in to make the area entirely irresistible (wine-tasting, anyone?).
