All-New Moorings 4000 Catamaran Set for Spring 2015 Debut

Moorings

The Moorings, the world’s premier yacht charter company, will welcome the all-new Moorings 4000 sail catamaran to the British Virgin Islands this May. Available for reservation now, this premium yacht features a family-friendly design and premium performance courtesy of master boat builders Robertson and Caine.

Offering a spacious three-cabin layout, the Moorings 4000 includes a number of interior features ideal for families and charter parties up to six. Oversized sliding glass doors connect the saloon and the aft cockpit, providing panoramic views from the interior and an innovative fusion of indoor and outdoor living spaces. With ample seating in both areas, this new layout lends itself to an open, social ambiance and increased ventilation throughout – especially when the forward access door is open.

This door opens to a forward area with a trampoline perfect for sunbathing and relaxing in the comfort of one’s surroundings. Below deck, the Moorings 4000 includes a spacious owner’s cabin that fills the entire starboard hull with ample storage and counter space, a large double bed, and a full, private bathroom. Two additional cabins, each with double beds, share an additional bathroom on the port side of the yacht. This new design provides the privacy parents or couples may want with generous space for all guests aboard.

When it comes to navigation, the 4000 features a raised helm station with a full range of Raymarine electronics, supplementary power from dual 29 horsepower engines and more – all combining to provide superior agility and speed on the water.

“A private yacht charter is best enjoyed with company, and few boats let you do this quite like the Moorings 4000,” said Shannan Brennan, Head of Global Marketing for The Moorings. “Whether you’re voyaging with family or friends, this yacht provides an open, communal atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re on a much larger boat. Pair with the blue waters of the British Virgin Islands and you have an incredible way to get out there and discover the world at sea.”

By Katherine Stone

There is nothing more that I enjoy than being with friends and messing about in boats. Messing about in brand-new boats on a champagne sailing day on Lake Ontario at the beginning of the summer doesn’t get any better. To have the new owner, Helmuth Strobel and Anchor Yachts dealer Pancho Jimenez aboard made it even more special, as they can also speak to what they truly enjoy about the boat. We keep our own boat in a harbour that has a long waiting list for boats over 35 feet, so this little gem would definitely fit the bill and feels like a much bigger boat. True to the spirit of the 7th generation Oceanis line, the 34.1 is built in Poland and replaces the 35.1. It is 1,000 lbs lighter, 14 cm narrower and has 29% more sail area.
