Dakota Lithium believes that quality is measured by lifespan and focuses on building batteries that last a very long time. By harnessing their unique chemistry and engineering know-how, Dakota Lithium are built to last 4x longer than traditional batteries, providing lasting value and reducing e-waste and the impact on the planet.

Dakota Lithium has been building lithium batteries since 2008. With a decade plus of high-powered adventures under their belt they know that Dakota Lithium batteries last a long, long time. Dakota stands behind their craftsmanship with a best in class 11-year warranty on all batteries.

Dakota Battery says that building a great battery is measured in nano-meters. You start with the best chemistry, crafting particles that capture electricity effortlessly. Hold it for a long time. And let it go upon command. With traditional lithium batteries the lithium chemicals (called nano-particles or nano-powder) lose a piece of themselves with each charge. They fragment, and break over time. The batteries get slow and weak until your battery can’t hold a charge anymore. In their quest to build the battery with the longest lifespan (cycle life) Dakota focused their research on building a partnership with a leading research university and have built their own patented lithium production process the most stable nano-particle. The result is Dakota Nanotech. A LifePo4 lithium nano-particle that will last between 2,500-3,000 cycles – roughly 5-6 times the lifespan of your typical Li-ion NMC chemistry. Dakota has put their know-how into building a better battery.

The Dakota Lithium Brand can be purchased at Total Battery. For over 28 years Total Battery has been specializing in many types of battery and power solution technologies.

The Whitsunday Islands

On my first day as a commercially registered yacht captain, I sailed a Fontaine Pajot 38 catamaran from mainland Australia across the Whitsunday Passage to the western shores of the world-famous Whitsunday islands.

We cruised northeast on a 15-knot beam reach… perfect catamaran sailing conditions, watching the hazy shapes of the islands colourize and morph into crescent beaches, jungled ridgelines and rocky outcrops.
