Fall Show at the Creek

Mosquito Creek Marina’s 6th annual Boat Show at the Creek September 22-25 enjoyed generally good fall weather, steady crowds and strong purchaser interest. Sponsored by the BC Yacht Brokers Association, the show brought 150-plus power and sailboats, plus a number of marine vendors and suppliers, to the North Shore marina.

The Whitsunday Islands

On my first day as a commercially registered yacht captain, I sailed a Fontaine Pajot 38 catamaran from mainland Australia across the Whitsunday Passage to the western shores of the world-famous Whitsunday islands.

We cruised northeast on a 15-knot beam reach… perfect catamaran sailing conditions, watching the hazy shapes of the islands colourize and morph into crescent beaches, jungled ridgelines and rocky outcrops.
