Raft Up Party

WHEN? August 5th from 4:00 to 8:00 + WHERE? The North Side of Rous Island.   HOW? Bring your boat or find a boating friend   WHAT? Tie up together for a RAFT UP PARTY.  We will have a few moorings in place but the idea is that only one of us will tie to the mooring.  Then the next person ties up to the first person and the next boat to them and so on.  It’s a great way to meet new people and we all know that BOATERS ARE THE FRIENDLIEST PEOPLE ALIVE!  If you see someone you don’t know, introduce yourself!   LIVE MUSIC?  Yep!  We will have a barge set up and we have two groups coming to play for us starting at 4:00   FOOD?  You betcha!  It won’t be fancy – some burgers, dogs, water and soda    WHY? Because WE LOVE BOATING!  And let’s face it… everybody loves a good party.   WHAT IF IT’s RAINING?  Good question.  If it’s a drizzle we will carry on but if it’s actually raining we will have to cancel and try again next year.  If you’re not sure, check back here at this website.  I’ll update with any news.

2013 First 36.7 North American Championship (NAC) Registration is now open!

The 2013 First 36.7 North American Championship (NAC) Organizing committee is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2013 First 36.7 NAC.  

Scheduled for September 5-8, 2013 and hosted at the Belmont Station of Chicago Yacht Club (CYC), the Notice of Race (NOR) and registration instructions are located at Yacht Scoring. The entry fee includes dockage during the event and access to all parties for the skipper and up to eight crew members.  Be sure to get your entry in early as there are incentives for early registration!

Ladysmith Maritime Centre Opens

With congratulatory speeches, a navy brass band and a First Nations welcoming circle, the Ladysmith Maritime Society recently opened its new dockside Reception Centre. After a number of speakers advanced the welcoming nature of the facility for visiting boaters, local mariners and First Nations neighbours, the proposal to rename it officially a Welcoming Centre was appreciated the large and enthusiastic crowd. Hunter Yachts Awards Canada’s Leading Sailboat Dealers

Canadian Dealers dominated world rankings recently in Annapolis with Hunter yacht's annual awards presentation held in conjunction with the Annapolis sailboat show. Canada held 3 out of the top ten rankings with Specialty Yachts of Vancouver (Lawrence Fronzcek), sixth, Marina Lennox of Quebec (Jean and Chantal Francois) second and True North Yachts (Allan Mestel) of Mississauga number One worldwide.

Hunter also recognized True North yachts for its service excellence.
