Big Changes in the Fall Canadian Boating Magazine!

We are excited to announce that the Fall Canadian Boating magazine brings in several major and significant changes.
First, the magazine is totally re-designed with fresh and elegant new art direction.
We are also introducing a fresh editorial thrust geared to attract and support new boaters and aspiring boaters. Each issue will offer editorial columns and stories to attract, inform and facilitate a successful entry into boating for people, young and old, who have a modest budget and who are not already experienced boaters.
Research shows that over 40% of boaters go fishing. Even a small boat can take you out fishing. We aim to help improve your catch while adding greatly to the fun. See the Fishing Column by Ben Fougere in this issue.
Some people dream of visiting destinations like gorgeous Grenada and we have a Grenada Destination Feature by Mark and Sharon Stevens. Also, be sure to read Val Doan’s story about her start into boating and how she now educates and certifies individuals to start cruising paradise on a chartered boat. It’s the dream vacation!
We are planning a new Column about how a yacht club membership can be surprisingly affordable and you don’t need a boat! Anyone can learn how to sail with lessons from the club. Then you can get onto other member’s boats, crew in the weeknight club races and if you take Adult Learn to Sail classes, some clubs will even give you access to the club’s own keel boat, depending on the club.
Save money on maintenance. We are launching a new column with this issue called “Tech You Can Tackle” written by Marc Robic also a regular contributor to OnBoard. Marc will give you step-by-step guidance to do some of the maintenance and repair tasks that keep an old boat running safely at the lowest cost. By learning how to maintain some vital systems, (such as the head!) you can enjoy your older boat with confidence.
This is just the start of our new editorial direction!
Plus, we will continue to feature new boat reviews and profiles, feature editorial like Joining a Boat Club and the high-end too – like Sail GP that was held in Halifax this summer! All this and more in the Fall Canadian Boating magazine!
