Huitième place aux Mondiaux juniors pour les Canadiens

Thomas et William Staples de Beaconsfield, au Québec, ont terminé au 8e rang aux Championats du monde junior en 49er, 49erFX et Nacra 17 2026 présentés du 19 au 26 juillet à Medemblik, aux Pays-Bas.

Il s’agit du meilleur résultat canadien à cet événement depuis la médaille d’or remportée par les Olympiens canadiens Will Jones et Evan DePaul lors de l’édition 2017 présentée à Kingston, au Canada.

Félicitations aux athlètes Excellence

Par ailleurs, quatre athlètes se sont démarqués par leur programme et leurs performances entre le 1er mai 2025 et le 31 avril 2026.

Ce sont les québécois Wiliam et Thomas Staples (49er), brevetés sur l’Équipe Canadienne par Voile Canada et Sport Canada. Loa Dinel (ILCA 6) et Jacob Townsend (ILCA7), quant à eux, ont obtenu  à titre exceptionnel le niveau « Excellence » de la part du gouvernement du Québec grâce à leurs résultats et leurs performances.
