POTW: No ice on the Detroit River!

Detroit River

Mar 8, 2023

Detroit RiverRoger Renaud, our Windsor Sailing in Canada correspondent sends along this Photo of the Week update:

“It’s the end of February, and the river still has no ice. The only time there were ice flows and ice jams was during that cold spell just at Christmas. This means low water this season due to the evaporation levels in the Great Lakes all winter. Today’s temperature here in Amherstburg is 47 degrees. It’s been mild for weeks….. (best kept secret)”
