BC marinas continue to serve

Apr 23, 2020

Oak Bay Marine Group: Oak Bay Marina, Pedder Bay Marina, North Saanich Marina and Ladysmith Marina Continue serving their boating clients.

Oak Bay Marina

Just like all of you, all of us here at Oak Bay Marine Group are learning to navigate the difficult times that we have been facing this year, we are also witnessing the importance of boating that has been tightly woven into the fabric of so many coastal communities. Families are taking to the water to explore and take advantage of the natural distancing that the water provides. Our Marinas are open for business and we are so pleased to be able to continue to facilitate safe recreation. It is a great year to refocus on connecting with immediate family and set sail on adventures close to home.

The Crew at Oak Bay Marina, Pedder Bay Marina, North Saanich Marina and Ladysmith Marina are hard at work maintaining the facilities, cleaning high touch-point areas and supporting our boating communities as best we can with reduced service hours while respecting physical distancing efforts. Service is always one of our key priorities especially as we adjust to this new normal, so please feel free to call us at our office lines, or radio us on 66A and we would be happy to offer assistance as best we can. Service is limited but our fuel docks are open and ready to help with new measures to protect our customers and crew.

Nimbus 365 Coupe – A real long-stay cruising boat for exploring

By Andy Adams

There is no shortage of fun and exciting new boat designs hitting the market, but for the last few years these have been mainly outboard-powered day boats. Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

By Zuzana Prochaska

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:

…you understand now why you came this way.
