Bash Logo If you miss the good ol’ days of fun and frivolity in sailboat racing, if you’ve never raced your sailboat, if you’re a powerboater or even if you don’t have a boat but love to crew or party by the water, then you must set Saturday June 23rd on your calendar!

We are thrilled to announce that the Port Credit Yacht Club will be hosting the Toronto Area Hospice Regatta (TAHR) again in 2018. The TAHR is a charity sailing event with net proceeds going to support a local hospice. The beneficiary of the 2017 TAHR was the Ian Anderson House, located on the Mississauga/Oakville border. The $57,000 we the event to the IAH was the largest amount ever raised by a third party fundraiser in their 20 year history!

BASH Perseverance WinningThe TAHR will feature both a one-design sport boat circle alongside a fun, pursuit start “Hospice Handicap” point-to-point race on Saturday June 23rd. The Hospice Handicap will have something for everyone from the avid racing enthusiast to the family cruiser, rookies to pros inclusive. We’re even calling on all power boats to both play a role in this unconventional sailboat race and/or compete themselves in the challenge. The regatta will attract 40-60 boats resulting in over 400 competitors, friends, family and yacht club members participating in both on and off water activities.

Spotted! Canadian Boating in Antigua & Barbuda

By Mathew Channer

I wore my Canadian Boating cap everywhere I went in Antigua, for the sun, not for the shout-outs. But I sure received a lot of them.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
