2018 Melges 24 World Championship To Take Place At The Victoria International Marina

The Melges 24 World Championship 2018 will be held on May 31st through June 8th, will be hosted by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club at the Victoria International Marina.

The annual Melges 24 World Championship is one of the most prestigious regattas on the planet reaching an international audience and attracting sailing talent from around the world. The economic impact is estimated at $1 million; it is expected that the race will attract 40+ entrants and their families who will visit Victoria throughout the race scheduled for June 3 to 8, 2018.

Melges 24 is returning to Victoria in partnership with the Royal Victoria Yacht Club. It was last held in the city in 2014. Today, the Royal Victoria Yacht Club is home to the largest fleet of Melges 24 racing sailboats in Canada and has an active membership of more than 1,000 local yachtsmen and sailors.
