Little Girl Sells Lemonade to Fundraise For SS Keewatin

Lemonade Keewatin

Sept 6, 2016

SS Keewatin volunteer Debbie Lee-Pearson accepts a cheque for $71.45 from four-year-old Braelyn Smith.

The donation represents the proceeds from a lemonade stand the girl’s grandfather made for her to set up at Queen’s Cove Marina in Victoria Harbour. He did so at Braelyn’s request after she saw the museum ship and was informed about its repair needs.

In recognition of her generosity, Braelyn, her grandparents and other family members were invited to tour the ship Sunday morning.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
