Halifax Show Photo Contest Less than a month to go to the 2016 Boat Show! AMTA and the show producers, Master Promotions Ltd are looking forward to the first show in the Halifax Exhibition Centre. With a theme of summer: Have Boat Have Summer, the show will feature what ‘lies beneath’ with stories from shipwreck hunter Terry Dwyer, artifact finder Wayne Mushrow, panel discussions, seminars, cooking afloat demonstrations and a visit from a Mermaid!

The Halifax Exhibition Centre (formerly Exhibition Park) kicks off a Brand new 2016 Show season on Jan 28th with the Halifax RV Show.

New owners of the facility, BesimHalef and BassamNahas have started improvements to the building and surrounds and have rebranded it.

The Erie Canal – An Extraordinary Waterway

As I shift our chartered canal boat into neutral, I’m soothed by the soundtrack of bird calls, the occasional plaintive horn of a distant train and the hum of our engine.

I reach for the VHF to radio the lockmaster in charge of Erie Canal’s Lock 32 dead ahead. Our boat spins gently in the current like a maple key in a mud puddle.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
