POTW: You’re ALL over early

Aug 26, 2021

This week’s POTW comes from internationally famous Hamilton, ON photographer, Sharon Green, who you know from her fabulous Ultimate Sailing Calendar. This month, Sharon covered the J/70 Worlds California Yacht Club and took this great shot.

“You all jumped the gun by three seconds,” Mark Foster, the PRO, boomed over the VHF, prompting a General Recall, and a U Flag* at the next start. The overzealous racers (none Canadian due to travel restrictions) have been champing at the bit for two years, awaiting the World Championship event, which was postponed due to the pandemic.

Next, it’s time for your POTW submission. You needn’t be a pro like Sharon Green – just a keener who takes pictures in and around boats.

Send your shots to cyonboard@kerrwil.com and put POTW in the subject line.

One could be forgiven for assuming this valley was purpose-built for nautical fun, with a few delightful perks thrown in to make the area entirely irresistible (wine-tasting, anyone?).
