Royal Van/West Van Crew win Lightning Youth Worlds

A Canadian team from Vancouver, including Rory Walsh, Andre Deseau and Gustave Deseau, won the 2026 Lightning Youth World Championship held June 22-26 in Järvenpää, Finland.

Two other Canadian teams also took part in the event including 16 boats: Cameron Whalley, Teagan Hansen and Monica Walsh, representing Thunder Bay’s Temple Reef Sailing Club, took the 11th position, while Isabelle Stack, Reese Levinson and Brooke Adam, representing Buffalo Canoe Club (located in Crystal Beach ON), finished in 13th position.
