Canada’s Oldest Commissioned Naval Ship Will Visit the Oldest Yacht Club in The Americas
It’s history in the making. The oldest yacht club in the Americas welcomes Canada’s oldest commissioned ship in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) this Saturday in Halifax.An official reception was held at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron (RNSYS), Saturday, May 4th.

Sail Canada announces the members of the 2019-2020 Canadian Sailing Team and Canadian Sailing Development Squad
Based on the current Sail Canada High-Performance Plan and the Podium Pathway, what has been previously known as the National Sailing Team or the Canadian Sailing Team, is now divided into two divisions; The Canadian Sailing Team (“CST”) and The Canadian Sailing Development Squad (“CSDS”).

Retaliatory Tariffs On US-made Boats Have Been Removed
NMMA Canada and the Canadian Marine Trades Associations have been advised by the Government of Canada that effective April 30, 2019, all retaliatory tariffs on U.S. recreational boats entering Canada have been removed, marking the most positive development for our industry since this concerning issue first emerged.

Victoria sailors and Thunderbird folks everywhere are mourning the loss of John Booth on April 8. His mostly one person company, Booth Enterprises in Victoria, was a pioneer in converting the plywood boat into fiberglass, thereby extending and enhancing the life of the class.
