Record de traversée en solitaire pour Lolie Osswald, 13 ans

Étonnante aventure qu’a rapportée Barbara Pelmard avec Le journal de Saint-Barth, le 19 juin 2022.

« Réaliser une traversée en solitaire à la voile, c’est le rêve de nombreux aventuriers. C’est le cas de Lolie Osswald. À 13 ans, elle s’est aventurée depuis ce matin dans un parcours Antigua – Saint-Barth. Elle a ainsi pu dépasser le record du monde de la distance parcourue lors d’une traversée sur un petit voilier en 16 heures et 34 minutes. »

Son bateau? Un Optimist! Comme quoi ce petit voilier d’initiation emblématique mène à tout! « Lolie Osswald, originaire de Saint-Barthelémy, s’est lancée, ce dimanche 19 juin, dans la traversée Antigua – Saint-Barth, sans assistance ni communication, à la barre d’un Optimist. »

« Une prouesse pour la licenciée du Saint-Barth Yacht Club (SBYC), championne de France minime en 2020-2021 sur RS Feva, qui a ainsi pu dépasser le record du monde de la distance parcourue lors d’une traversée sur ce petit voilier. Auparavant, le record avait été établi dans le Détroit de Gibraltar avec une distance de 60 milles. »
