Record absolu de vitesse à la voile autour du monde pour Sodebo Ultim 3

Dans son édition du 6 janvier, le réputé journal français Le Figaro a titré: « Classe Ultim : l’exceptionnelle performance de Sodebo Ultim 3 ! ». Et d’ajouter en début de l’article consacré au record du tour du monde du trimaran de 32 mètres : « Ils ont marqué l’histoire ! »

« En bouclant leur tour du monde en 40 jours, 10 heures et 45 minutes, Thomas Coville, Benjamin Schwartz, Frédéric Denis, Pierre Leboucher, Léonard Legrand, Guillaume Pirouelle et Nicolas Troussel s’offrent l’iconique record autour du monde, le Trophée Jules Verne. Ils font tomber le record détenu depuis 2017 par Francis Joyon et son équipage sur IDEC Sport et signent notamment deux records (Ouessant-équateur, océan Pacifique) et plusieurs temps de référence. »

Le Figaro signale, à juste titre, qu’en remportant le Trophée Jules Verne « Sodebo Ultim 3 a réalisé un sacré tour de force », rappelant que treize tentatives ont eu lieu ces neuf dernières années, et que quatre d’entre elles avaient même été menées par Thomas Coville et son équipage.
