Ce cours approfondit les connaissances acquises dans les cours de base. Vous pouvez suivre ce cours par intérêt personnel ou parce que vous ne pouvez résister à l’appel d’horizons lointains. C’est un cours qui vous servira tout l’hiver. Vous étudierez les phénomènes tels que El Niño, les moussons d’été et la neige due à d’effet de lac. Vous apprendrez comment utiliser la pression atmosphérique, la température, le point de congélation ainsi que la direction des vents pour obtenir des prédictions plus exactes.

Démystifiez les ouragans et les chinooks en obtenant les connaissances nécessaires pour interpréter les données météorologiques. Cela vous permettra de planifier votre navigation côtière en fonction de ces données météorologiques. Sujets : atmosphère, chaleur, vent et vagues, humidité, précipitations et brouillard, stabilité et nuages, orages, tornades, ouragans, fronts chauds, fronts froids, dépressions, anticyclones.
