Pacific Salmon Fundraiser Food

Apr 12, 2018

Bluewater Rigging Vancouver announced today that they will donate a 2018 Seakeeper SK02 Gyro valued at $30,000 to the Pacific Salmon Foundation Gala auction on May 11, 2018.

The Vancouver Gala Dinner & Auction is The Pacific Salmon Foundation flagship fundraiser and largest event of the year, raising vital funds for volunteer Streamkeepers across British Columbia and the Yukon. “Support generated through dinners gets reinvested in communities, which is then magnified with additional dollars raised by Pacific Salmon Foundation,” said Dr. Brian Riddell, PSF CEO and President.

Fundraiser Guests

“The success of our fundraising auctions largely depends on generous donations from businesses like Bluewater Rigging. Many of our dinner attendees are avid anglers and boaters. We’re both excited and grateful for the opportunity to offer them such a unique and high-end item through our live auction.”

“At the very core of all Bluewater customers, is their deep appreciation and love for the water in the Pacific West Coast”, said Bluewater’s Founder and operator Andy MacDonald. “The best way we can give back to the beauty of the Pacific West Coast is by investing in the stewards of our lakes, rivers and oceans. Bluewater is grateful for the opportunity to partner with The Pacific Salmon Foundation which will raise funds for the volunteer Streamkeepers that PSF supports. When you consider the ability of these volunteer groups to leverage grants an average of 7:1, this donation could generate some considerable funding”.

New Boats: Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 – A Sleek, Good -Looking Delight To Sail

By Katherine Stone

There is nothing more that I enjoy than being with friends and messing about in boats. Messing about in brand-new boats on a champagne sailing day on Lake Ontario at the beginning of the summer doesn’t get any better. To have the new owner, Helmuth Strobel and Anchor Yachts dealer Pancho Jimenez aboard made it even more special, as they can also speak to what they truly enjoy about the boat. We keep our own boat in a harbour that has a long waiting list for boats over 35 feet, so this little gem would definitely fit the bill and feels like a much bigger boat. True to the spirit of the 7th generation Oceanis line, the 34.1 is built in Poland and replaces the 35.1. It is 1,000 lbs lighter, 14 cm narrower and has 29% more sail area.
