The importance of unimportant

How important are boats? Well, in the grand scheme of things, not that important. Not to be too meta, but this is a great time to have something unimportant to think about.

Who needs all this? It really is one IMPORTANT thing after another and we are entering our third year of it. While it is clearly critical to pay attention to the critical thing that surround us day after day lately, sometimes it’s just nice to think about boats.

Yes, we are citizens of the world and yes we care. And yes we can spend 23.8 hours a day pondering, worrying and stressing. That leaves lots of time to squander on the open waters, the dream of launch and the fun of heading out with friends ahead this spring and summer.

There are lots more grave and attention-demanding concerns, but boats won’t infect you, occupy your capital or any European nations. Unimportant perhaps, but somehow vital.
