Ocean Day Webinar with the Marine Detective – June 8th at 7 pm PDT

In honour of World Ocean Day on June 8th, the Marine Education and Research Society is pleased to invite you to a webinar by Jackie Hildering, aka The Marine Detective, CPS-ECP’s very own Environmental Committee member. In this evening presentation entitled “Ocean Inspiration”, Jackie will share her journey of learning from cold dark seas and becoming a whale researcher. It will be her story of humility, precaution, inspiration and connection, motivated by wanting to contribute to the well-being of future generations. In honour of World Ocean Day on June 8th, the Marine Education and Research Society is pleased to invite you to an online presentation by Jackie Hildering, aka The Marine Detective, CPS-ECP’s very own Environmental Committee member. Two webinars are planned: one at 10:30am PDT for schools, and one at 7pm PDT for the general public.

In the evening presentation, Jackie will share her journey of learning from cold dark seas and becoming a whale researcher. It will be her story of humility, precaution, inspiration and connection, motivated by wanting to contribute to the well-being of future generations.

Content is appropriate for all ages but the educational approach will be aimed at an adult audience.

Jackie Hildering is “The Marine Detective” – teacher, underwater photographer, whale researcher and co-founder of the Marine Education and Research Society based on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia in Kwakwaka’wakw Territory.

Above all, Jackie is driven to create awareness of the life-sustaining importance of the Ocean and positive action for the beauty, mystery, and fragility hidden in the cold, dark waters of our coast.
