$25.00 – The Seminars and Special Events Package

is your all access pass to Education and Membership seminars, Thursday Board Meeting, IT Presentation, Marketing/Communication Presentation(s), Environment Presentation, Award Presentations, Keynote Speaker, and the Friday night FUN hosted by National. Be prepared to join the virtual Hospitality room on the Friday evening.

If a picture is truly worth a thousand words, we know CPS-ECP members across the country have plenty to say.

With that well in mind, we’re asking members to ‘speak’ to us via their photos, which we’ll share in a very big way during the 2021 virtual CPS-ECP Conference and AGM on the evening of Friday, October 15 as part of the annual Awards Night festivities.

Photos of boating-related activity with family and friends are optimal but any image that captures the joy and spirit of what we all love to do will do the trick. We know you’ve enjoyed some wonderful times on the water this past boating season and captured many of those moments. This is your chance to share those memories with fellow squadron members across the country.

Members who submit photos will be recognized by name on each photo.

Email your photos, saved as .jpeg images, to theporthole@cps-ecp.ca by October 6.

Keynote Speaker – Gaurav Shinde

The long tradition of introducing dynamic and accomplished personalities to CPS-ECP members will continue at the 2021 National Conference and AGM when Gaurav Shinde delivers the keynote address on Saturday, October 16 at 1600, EST.

A member of the London Power and Sail Squadron, Gaurav will speak to his preparations and hopes for the 2022 Golden Globe Race that begins September 4, 2022, departing from Les Sables d’Olonne, France. Aboard Good Hope, a 1980 TaShing Flying Dutchman 35, Gaurav will sail unassisted non-stop around the world without the benefit of modern navigation technology. Since its inception, just six sailors have finished the race.

$25.00 – Or choose both and register for the AGM + Special Events and Seminars Package

Registration closes October 6, 2021 11:59 pm PST.

The Best of Two Worlds

By Mathew Channer

Interior British Columbia might not be as famous for recreational boating as Canada’s Great Lakes, yet it is no less a world-class boating destination. The mountains offer their own flavour of marine adventure with their series of long, deep ribbon lakes, and there is perhaps no area that embodies this more uniquely than the iconic Okanagan basin in southern B.C. One could be forgiven for assuming this valley was purpose-built for nautical fun, with a few delightful perks thrown in to make the area entirely irresistible (wine-tasting, anyone?).
