Hamilton Power and Sail Squadron celebrates 75 Years

The celebration luncheon for members and their guests was held on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club. Commander Murray Thompson, AP welcomed Niagara D/C Andrew Hey and guest speaker Alistair Mackenzie who spoke of the history of the four Welland Canals.
Members received a Hamilton Pennant pin and enjoyed the camaraderie at our fun-filled event.
Our charter is dated June 24, 1949 and, interestingly, one of the 17 initial charter members, Cliff R. Lunt, became Chief Commander of Canadian Power Squadrons in the early formative years of CPS-ECP. Yes, Hamilton is proud to recognize P/C/C Lunt from our Squadron.
Our past bridge members and many members have served willingly on Niagara District and National positions. Our Life Members can attest to the dedication and devotion that have kept Hamilton vibrant with numerous donated time and hours of work.
As to the future, we look forward to continued training under our new CanBoat / NautiSavoir Operated by CPS-ECP rebrand.
