CPS-ECP Annual General Meeting

Apr 25, 2024

The 2024 AGM is just around the corner.  Join us from October 23 to 27, 2024 and get started with Discovering the New World!

Trois-Rivières, the first Francophone Squadron in Canada, will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2024. Trois Rivieres is located at the mouth of the St-Maurice River on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River halfway between Quebec City and Montreal.

A city of culture, Trois-Rivières has been proclaimed the National Capital of Poetry of Quebec. With its festivals, Festivoix, Trois-Rivières en Blues, Délices d’automne and its Cogéco Amphitheatre, which can accommodate 9000 people, it will blow your mind.

A port city, Trois-Rivières is mobilizing around a research project with the Port Authorities of Montreal and Quebec City to create the first Green Maritime Corridor in Canada. It is also a base for Canadian Coast Guard hovercraft, including the CCGS Sipu Muin used for icebreaking rivers and tidal flats along the St. Lawrence.

The Discovery of the New World cannot be done without CECI, the Interactive Event and Convention Centre integrated into the Delta Marriott hotel, a convention centre containing 24 rooms that can accommodate more than 1600 people, with its modern and flexible spaces,  with integrated technology and interactive video conferencing system.

During your visit, let yourself be tempted by a visit to the Cité de l’Énergie, including the Planet Energy Exhibition, the observation tower and the Prime Minister Jean Chrétien Museum, followed by a visit to the Trou du Diable microbrewery and a beer tasting.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the Borealis Museum, built on the site of the former Canadian International Paper (CIP) filtration plant, which tells the story of Quebec’s paper industry from yesterday to today, and a walking tour in the heart of old Trois-Rivières, which will take you directly to En Prison! (in jail!)

Bennington 22 MSB

If you’ve already had firsthand experience with a pontoon, you will easily understand the appeal of the Bennington 22 MSB. But if you haven’t, let’s start by reviewing a few of the reasons why pontoon boats have become top sellers in markets across North America.

Pontoon boats began in the early 1950s as basically four steel drums lashed to a frame. They were not unlike the log rafts of ancient cultures and not much more sophisticated at first.

The Best of Two Worlds

By Mathew Channer

Interior British Columbia might not be as famous for recreational boating as Canada’s Great Lakes, yet it is no less a world-class boating destination. The mountains offer their own flavour of marine adventure with their series of long, deep ribbon lakes, and there is perhaps no area that embodies this more uniquely than the iconic Okanagan basin in southern B.C. One could be forgiven for assuming this valley was purpose-built for nautical fun, with a few delightful perks thrown in to make the area entirely irresistible (wine-tasting, anyone?).
