POTW: Padding the budget, M242 style

As announced in late 2020, the Pacific Northwest Regional Measurers and IMCA are allowing M242 owners to experiment with deck padding in 2021. Apparently there is concern for backsides when sailing these popular BC boats, so the search is on.

In the M242 newsletter, the fleet pictures two potential, possibly impractical solutions to the problem. The “chairs” shot with its cool white esthetic was an easy Photo-of-the-Week choice but the second shot ad some appeal too, at least from a decorator perspective.

PaddingNext week, who knows. The photo of the week can be yours. Simply send your shots to cyonboard@kerrwil.com and put POTW in the header. It can be anything – wacky, beautiful, touching or grand. You pick it.

And our Name That Boat game is also on the go and for that one we have a prize of a Big Bumper that you know you crave. So boat name pics are also welcome. We love to hear from our audience!

However, by embracing innovative solutions and adopting sustainable practices, both marinas and boaters hold the key to preserving and enhancing the quality of our lakes and marine life for generations to come.
