POTW : Mr Centre Stage

Mr. Centre Stage

Feb 13, 2025

A recent discussion reminiscing about the very great Ed Botterel, prompted Ewen Campbell, a favorite boat broker in Collingwood, to send in this Photo of the Week. Before he passed Ed was an Olympian, sailmaker and great friend to everybody who had a magic ability to get noticed wherever he was.

As Ewen recalled – this official photo was taken at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club at a gathering to honour C&C. The late George Cuthbertson, founder of C&C, was there, Canada’s Cup winner, Don Green, was there, everyone was there.  But right out front, in the middle, dressed in white while everyone else was clad in grey, was Ed Botterel.

A one of a kind guy starring in a historic photo

Our Photo of the Week comes from all over and yours could next. We love the shots that you love to share, so please send them along to onboard@kerrwil.com and please put POTW in the subject line.

One could be forgiven for assuming this valley was purpose-built for nautical fun, with a few delightful perks thrown in to make the area entirely irresistible (wine-tasting, anyone?).
