Good afternoon,
Why not just call it Lake Ontario Yachting?
Or, Ontario Yachting?
Not much else in it for anywhere else.

Chris Vipond
Dockside Marine Centre
West Kelowna, BC

PS: We’ve had a hell of season here in the Okanagan.
Long cold winter, then a very wet, late spring resulting in record high water levels for our lakes. And much waterfront flooding of beaches and homes, with many docks and structures being damaged or washed away.
Boaters being advised to make no wake so as to not overflow sandbags. Much debris on the lake.
And now long, hot dry spells with many fires in the BC interior, so boaters are asked to keep away from areas being used by firefighting aircraft.
A real gong show.

Well, Chris;
Thanks for the note even if it’s a slap. FYI, we always have three or four (or more) pieces from the west thanks to our BC-based editor, Bob Nicoll bnicoll@kerrwil.com.

BUT, to be fair, we may not be giving enough attention to the BC Interior. There’s lot of ground to cover in this spacious country, so I’m going to shout out to BC boaters to send us news, views, photos and anything else.

Thanks too for the update on conditions in Kelowna. Sounds like a boatload of madness!

In the Maritimes, please send news to Glen Cairns, CYOB Eastern Canada Correspondent, glencairns0@gmail.com

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
