New Boat: Swift Trawler 41

Oct 24, 2019

The new Beneteau Swift Trawler 41 renews the spirit of the practical seaworthy cruiser. The powerboat has all the trademark features of this successful range, with clever innovations giving her a fresh contemporary feel.

The Swift Trawler 41 is 44 feet overall with a beam of 13 feet, and is the most recent addition to the successful range of five long-distance cruisers.

Designed to replace the previous Swift Trawler 44, the new Swift Trawler 41 has been placed appropriately in the 40 foot passagemaker category, but the concept has been given a fresh look. A mid-range boat with a strikingly stylish profile, she reflects the Swift Trawler line renewal perfectly, which began last year with the arrival of the Swift Trawler 47.

The Swift Trawler 41 is smaller than her elder sister, whose contemporary feel she has inherited. Among some of the new ideas is the galley, which has been wisely placed aft of the wheelhouse, connecting seamlessly with the cockpit and the swim platform. With the large sliding glass door open and the bar plancha grill in place, she offers a well ventilated flush interior and exterior space for entertaining.

Swift Trawler 41The clever new layout of the convertible salon now includes a curtain that runs around the double berth, offering privacy for this comfortable sleeping space. Another new feature is the helm seat, which easily rotates, providing seating for up to eight people in the lounge space. Again, there is an increased sense of space and volume.

As with the other models of the range, the helm station of the Swift Trawler 41 has a large steering wheel and a side door on the starboard walkway. The 41 comes in both a sedan and flybridge version.

The slender flared bow of the Swift Trawler 41 cuts through the sea wonderfully resulting in great fuel consumption and optimal efficiency, with 1.3 Gal per nautical mile, from 10 to 23 knots. Designed for a choice of 2 x 270 HP or 2 x 300 HP engines, her 41 ft long planing hull reaches peak speeds of 23 knots. Her large 317 Gal fuel tanks and 105 Gal fresh water tanks give her a great cruising range. Averaging 16 knots on a cruise, she has a range of roughly 180 nautical miles. Additionally, the boat has been fitted with the on board Ship Control technology, for greater control. This centralizes all the technical features on board on the same display: navigation instruments, batteries, light, temperature, air-conditioning, etc. Ideal for blue water exploration and also perfect for tranquil moorings, the Swift Trawler 41 places the emphasis on a wide variety of leisure activities. Her design is practical with plenty of storage space for a wide range of leisure equipment for children and adults, such as kayaks, paddle boards and bikes.

Designed for long crossings, the Swift Trawler 41 has generous living spaces and cleverly designed fittings. She is also incredibly safe thanks to protective bulwarks and a high pulpit on the foredeck. With three cabins, the Swift Trawler 41 cruiser has a capacity of up to seven passengers on a cruise.

The GalleyThe large double owner cabin is located in the forward peak and has two separate wet rooms: wash basin and marine toilet to port, and a shower to starboard. On the port side, the guest cabin has a modular double berth that converts to a twin birth. To starboard, there is a lazarette area with a single berth, offering a good-sized storage space and a place where a washing machine/tumble-dryer can be fitted.

The living spaces are modern and attractively bright with our simple décor combining warm coloured woodwork (Alpi, teak and Oak) with light-coloured linings. The cockpit places the emphasis on modularity with a sliding bench giving onto the swim platform, making movement easier and allowing you to install a table for meals. Unless, of course, you prefer the panoramic atmosphere of the flybridge, where you can enjoy a fitted galley and table seating eight people.

Pursuit S268 Sport CC

By Andy Adams

The Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console is a do-it-all kind of boat with a solid sense of style. Centre console designs have been developed for the southern blue water sport fishing enthusiasts (and this boat would raise fish with the best of them) but the Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console offers far more utility and enjoyment than just fishing.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

(l to r) Holly, Adam, Pat, Ron, Shelley

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
