POTW: Grounded

November 20, 2025

Our Photo of the Week comes from Roger Renaud, loyal reporter from Windsor.  Earlier in November Roger wrote “Canada Steamship Lines “Rt Hon Paul J Martin” grounded on the Detroit River this morning as seen from Windsor Ontario.”

A fifth tug was on its way and the next day the five pulled the 700+-ft freighter free

In the end it took five tugs to free the freighter from her ‘soft grounding’ .

low water in the Lakes

Perhaps the more important message is the low water level. Roger also took this shot to show us what’s happening at the mouth of the Detroit River on Lake Erie.

Now we need your photos.  OnBoard is after your Photo of the Week on your boat, from your boat or anywhere near your boat! People places, events ..anything boat related. Send them along to photo@opmediagroup.ca and we will publish them in POTW.

…you understand now why you came this way.
