November Issue of PY is on its Way!

November is traditionally our Charter Issue and this year is no different. You’ll find an in-depth feature on a week-long charter in Tahiti, as Walt Whittaker explored the lagoon surrounding the tropical islands of Raiatea and Taha’a.

Regular Pacific Yachting contributor Marianne Scott visits bustling Canoe Cove and reflects on the marina’s storied past and looks toward its busy future. Boaters looking to have work done should consider visiting this “boater’s marina”.

In this issue, we also profile the Canadian Coast Guard’s hovercraft: CCGS Siyay, always a call away and ready to help in a boating emergency. Diane Selkirk visited Siyay’s base in Richmond and toured the hovercraft. She offers an inside scoop on how the ship is deployed.

Peter Robson jumps aboard the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 350 and takes it for a spin around English Bay. Read his report on the boat on page 62.

Spotted! Canadian Boating in Antigua & Barbuda

I wore my Canadian Boating cap everywhere I went in Antigua, for the sun, not for the shout-outs. But I sure received a lot of them.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
