Dockside Dining: Frind Winery

Frind Patio

Aug 8, 2024

I’m a boater – I always take friends and visitors to Frind when we’re on the boat.

Frind Winery is the perfect place for boaters to go for lunch or dinner in the Kelowna area.  You can tie up on the dock or beach your pontoon on the spacious beach.

Frind has an Italian style brick pizza oven for gourmet pizzas and a great selection of other menu items.  You can eat on the patio, at a picnic table, on the beach, or on the lawn. You can also get your order to go and enjoy your meal out on the lake.

The wines are very good – book a wine tasting to enjoy while you’re there.   The 2022 Viognier is a very nice white wine – it’s the perfect wine for a beautiful summer day on the lake.  They also have live music Wednesdays, Saturdays,  and Sundays from 4 – 7pm throughout the summer.

Fun Fact: Frind Estate Winery is the first beachfront winery in North America and is situated on the historic Bennett Property in West Kelowna, BC. The property was purchased in 2017 after Markus Frind sold his company Plenty of Fish and wanted to do something more hands-on.

Hiding Out in Belize

Dodging holiday havoc in the tropics

Getting out of town was top-of-mind as it was only November and I was already saturated with Christmas traditions – the music, the glitter, the cookies, the sales. A week in relatively remote Belize was the siren song so we booked a 45-foot catamaran with The Moorings and packed our bags.
