The Gulf Yacht Club is a small sailing club with about 80 members in the Metro Vancouver/Vancouver Island/Sunshine Coast area. We have a very active membership and a busy cruising schedule.

Our club is very casual, and members are always willing to help each other with any questions or hands-on assistance. Our cruises and rendezvous gatherings are well attended with lots of good eats, camaraderie and some fun and games. Most gatherings are on weekends, but the extended cruises tend to be weeks long. Members are invited to join all or part of these cruises. We welcome non members to join the fun and try us out. Check us out and see our cruising schedule here. 

Power boats?

The Gulf Yacht Club is for sailors, however, if you have been a member for five years the constitution allows the member to transition to a power boat and maintain membership. This protocol seems to be working well and all members are sailors or former sailors. 

With no real property or moorage our member fees are low and currently we are seeking new members. It’s safer and more fun to sail with friends!

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
