Fish for Free This Year in Ontario

Four times a year, Canadian residents can fish in Ontario for free! This means you do not need to buy a fishing license if you want to fish during these times:

  • Family Fishing Weekend (February 17–19, 2024)
  • Mother’s Day Weekend (May 11–12, 2024)
  • Father’s Day Weekend (June 15–16, 2024)
  • Family Fishing Week (June 29–July 7, 2024)

Follow fishing rules
Remember to follow proper fishing rules during these free fishing periods:

  • Follow conservation license catch limits
  • Obey size limits and sanctuaries
  • Follow the fishing regulations
  • Carry a permit or identification card issued by the provincial or federal government, showing your name and date of birth

Adamant 1 has had an adventurous trip since returning from the Bahamas. The Intracoastal Waterway is full of twists and turns, marshland, shallow water and spectacular scenery. It has been very quiet as well with little boat traffic. We pulled into Fernandina Beach at the Florida-Georgia border. We heard it was beautiful there so we rented a car and toured all day. Sadly, we got caught in a tropical depression that lasted for two days with sustained winds of 80 km/h. Once the storm abated, we headed north again. Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
