Top Volunteer Dedicated to Boating Safety – Alice Baratta

An individual who consistently practices and promotes safe boating in Canada.

Alice Baratta has been a dedicated Member of Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons (CPS-ECP) since 1986. Alice started boating with a canoe … this is her beginner canoe… and after many years Alice and her husband Nick purchased a sailboat which prompted her to take courses with CPS-ECP. Not long after her initial education, she became active with the London Power and Sail Squadron in 1989, now serving for 34 years. Alice’s main focus has been the Educational side of CPS-ECP but has also filled many roles on the administration side.

She has held most every position in London… Education, Marep..marine reporting of navigational information, Environment, Boat Show, Public Relations, Financial Officer and even as Commander, but her key role has been as an instructor. She is well qualified for this role as she holds a teaching certificate.

Alice has served the Western Ontario District in Southwestern Ontario with a focus on Environment, Financial and now, fittingly, the District Educational Officer.

This year CSBC recognizes Alice Baratta for the over 36 years she has spent as a dedicated member of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons.
