Frequent Windsor racing contributor to Sailing in Canada Roger Renaud, caught this gorgeous shot of The Pride of Baltimore as she passed through Amherstburg, Ontario on July 12. The picture was taken at Amherstburg, looking west, on the Detroit River. headed for the Festival of Sail at Alpena, Michigan, on Lake Huron.

Roger adds “specs say she’s 105 feet…157 feet including the bow sprit. That’s a lot of sq of head sails. I’m sure she’s balances nicely. BTW – specs say she’s 26 ft in the beam, with a 12.6 draft. Here’s a picture I found of her under full sail.”

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
