POTW: New Cup, New watch

Luna Rossa

Apr 6, 2022

While there’s all kinds of discussion, particularly in NZ, about the plan to defend the 37th America’s Cup in Spain rather than in home waters, the Italian team, Luna Rossa, responded in a natural continental way, by introducing a new watch.

In a press release on Monday:

“In the Luna Rossa team, winner of the PRADA Cup in the last America’s Cup, Panerai found an ideal partner, an Italian counterpart exemplifying excellence in its field. While Panerai is a well-known actor in the Swiss watchmaking sector, the brand’s Italian heritage infuses its work with a standout design sensibility.”

According to the release, founded in Florence in 1860 as a workshop, shop and subsequently school of watchmaking, for many decades Panerai supplied the Italian Navy and its specialist diving corps in particular with precision instruments. The tradition apparently continues!

Your photo of the week may be equally luxurious, but it needn’t be jewellery. Pictures of your launch fun, kids, pets, anything boat related makes a great Photo of the Week. Just send it along to cyonbaord@kerrwil.com and put POTW in the subject line. Your shot could be next issue’s special feature!
