A sigh of relief

New BoatTest Section

Oct 14, 2021

This weekend is haulout and while it’s always a sad moment when the boat comes out, it is with surprisingly upbeat log entries we mark the end of what turned out to be a more enjoyable summer than some of us expected.  To be sure, the Summer of ‘21 has been an up and down experience thanks to this pandemic, which has brought with it a collection of restrictions and operating procedures, many of which proved to be a complete pain in the transom.

Still, the report from across the country is positive; cruising has happened with caution, the fair winds blew as we social distanced and the season was more predictable than you might have expected from our vantage last spring.  There were some almost normal boat parties, some races, some dockside cocktails, and lots of family onboard.

Well done all with hopes for an equally enjoyable off-season.

New tests

With this issue, we begin a new feature called Boat Gallery developed via a recent relationship with BoatTest.com.  Canadian Yachting and CY OnBoard are the exclusive national Canadian BoatTest partners, something we are very proud to announce.

With a very busy testing schedule, BoatTest is the US-based source for top quality reviews and news. Especially with the current border restrictions, BoatTest provides a window that just isn’t available to us right now while providing even more quality boat review content for you to enjoy. Their people are experts, their approach is professional; we think you will find their content informative and valuable.

Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
