The X47 carries the America’s Cup logo proudly on its hull

If you’re following the America’s Cup, you have probably seen the name Yanmar mentioned and pondered how the company is connected to extreme sail racing. They don’t make sails or foils, but they certainly do produce engines and hot looking powerboats. Apparently Yanmar sees the sail and power community (they power both) as one and the same, as do we at CYOB!

Yanmar’s brand flagship, the Yanmar X47 Express Cruiser leads the company into its second century of business. The 47-foot vessel offers an unprecedented combination of luxury and performance and will serve as the Official VIP Cruiser of the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada, the oldest trophy in international sport and the pinnacle of yachting. Powered by a triple arrangement of Yanmar’s powerful 8LV marine diesel engines with ZT370 sterndrive, the X47 EXPRESS CRUISER is a 47-foot high performance motor yacht that exhibits serious acceleration and maneuvering performance with a compact engine bay that maximizes accommodation space.

As Official VIP Cruiser of the America’s Cup, the X47 Express Cruiser will afford its lucky passengers a world of luxury and comfort while they enjoy everything this once-in-a-lifetime event has to offer.
