Meet Board of Director Member Nicole Ladner, S

Nicole Ladner, S

Mar 12, 2020

Nicole has been involved with the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons since she was an infant. She took her first boating course sitting in a play pen at the back of the classroom while her father taught at the front. She grew up on the West Coast and always enjoyed being out on the water.

When she bought her first boat about 10 years ago and was able to explore further away from home, she realized that she no longer had local knowledge of the water and did not know what the aids to navigation were trying to tell her or what was lurking under the water that could sink her boat. So she enrolled in the boating course. She was then asked to proctor, and quickly found herself instructing and becoming an assistant training officer. She then took on other positions including squadron training officer, treasurer and secretary. She is currently the assistant treasurer and secretary of one of the newest and largest squadrons – North Shore Power and Sail Squadrons – which is an amalgamation of three squadrons from North Vancouver and West Vancouver. She assisted in the transition from three squadrons into one amalgamated squadron.

Nicole enjoys spending time in her small bow rider Searay and is always willing to serve as crew on any boat if it means she can get out on the water.

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
