Canadian Yachting Team MVP Judy Richardson meets the Leafs’ Mike Babcock

The Toronto International Boat Show kicked off last Friday and the week has been booming. The very first Women’s Day event at the Toronto Boat Show on Sunday was a huge success despite the scary cold temperatures and weekday crowds have been enjoying the huge collection of boats, accessories and special presentations.

Toronto Maple Leafs Head Coach, Mike Babcock made an appearance at Saturday’s show.  He was in the MasterCraft booth, chatting with show attendees, signing autographs, and sharing some of his best coaching tips!

The Erie Canal – An Extraordinary Waterway

As I shift our chartered canal boat into neutral, I’m soothed by the soundtrack of bird calls, the occasional plaintive horn of a distant train and the hum of our engine.

I reach for the VHF to radio the lockmaster in charge of Erie Canal’s Lock 32 dead ahead. Our boat spins gently in the current like a maple key in a mud puddle.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
