Barcelona Boat Show in Pictures

Barcelona Boat Show

Nov 22, 2018

The Barcelona International Boat Show was held October 10 – 14, 2018, and Canadian Yachting Onboard was there for you. Over 250 exhibitors displayed 700 boats, including an impressive display of 165 large boats in the water.

This year, the show incorporated the first Nautic Tech International Forum, showcasing thirty startups from around the world.

One highlight of the show was E2SOL, a European company specializing in high tech military grade solar systems. Readers will be most interested in PowerDocks, the world’s first commercially available line of solar electric docks called Blue Isles™.

Story and photos by Robert Dilworth. Rob Dilworth started out his working life as a go-fer at a marina in Muskoka, then spent many years as a TV marketing and research guy. These days he restores old inboards and attends boat shows.

Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
