Quadrant Marine Institute’s student Austin Edwards is a journey person Marine Service Technician at the age of 20

Austin Edwards told students and parents at the Saanich School’s “Parents as Informed Partners” night how he completed his 4-year Marine Service Technician Ticket before his 21st birthday. By starting his trades training at Quadrant while he was in Grade 11 at Parkland Secondary, he got credit towards high school and Marine Service Technician (MTS) technical training at the same time. Quadrant is just one of the training partners with Saanich Schools where Dual Credit students like Austin can fast track their career goals.

Austin completed his advanced competencies and final exam this past spring. He works at Raven Marine in Sidney. The Yacht Care and Services department at Raven Marine offers full maintenance, repair and installation services. Quadrants new Granville Island classroom hosts its first fire extinguisher training certification

Level One MST Training starts off with fire extinguisher training certification that includes putting out a live fire.
